Summary.
The article shows the importance to develop the conceptual apparatus of monument science. The authors justify the need for the typological category of material historical and cultural values “reserved places” to be expanded in the Code of the Republic of Belarus on culture by introducing a new type of “reserved places of interest”. This type could include the so-called objects of national worship, which specifically connect the material and intangible elements, combine the local tradition (traditions, customs, rituals, etc.) with objects of the natural landscape (springs, boulders, barrows, etc.).
