From the chronicle to the digital tape: The Belarusian national idea in the logic of symbolic capital
The author gives a historical and philosophical analysis of the Belarusian national idea through the conceptual apparatus of Pierre Bourdieu. Three cases are considered: the formation of East Slavic civilization through Christian book-learning and the concept of the "Russian land", the Soviet institutionalization of the Belarusian national form and the challenges of the digital era. Belarus is interpreted as a "node of compatibility", i.e. a space of cultural translation and reformatting of symbolic modes.
